Inglewood is the thriving hub of a community in South West Queensland

The town also serves a much wider population in the outlying agricultural district, where families on rural holdings grow a variety of crops, and graze cattle and sheep.

There are vast tracts of natural forest managed by the Forestry Department, and the cypress pine is milled locally.

In the recent past a successful industry has developed around the production of organic produce. This initiative has been a huge success, and not only offered employment to locals, but attracted new families to the town.

The Coolmunda dam lies 16km east of the town. Picturesque Lake Coolmunda, with its wide expanse of waterway, offers a variety of recreational water sports to locals and visitors.

The nearest large provincial cities are Toowoomba and Warwick, an hour and a half drive away, and the substantial border town of Goondiwindi is 70km south.
